Con-heart

The decking surface is Construction heart S4S redwood. The railing is cable rail with a con-heart redwood frame. We stained and sealed the lower decks for a long and beautiful life.

Con-heart heart redwood is the lowest costing redwood grade we use. If you don’t mind the knots, and a lot of people don’t, you can save a lot of money by using it. There is a cheaper redwood grade of redwood used for decking call con-common redwood. Con-common is just like con-heart redwood but it has the white sap wood. The white sap is the outer edge of the redwood tree that has not matured. It it very susceptible to fungus rot and bug infestation.
